Libby & Nathan Wedding Day, Bawtry Hall Doncaster

Libby & Nathan | Wedding Photographer at Bawtry Hall, Doncaster

There are weddings that are beautiful. There are weddings that are emotional. And then there are weddings that are genuinely, completely extraordinary — and Libby and Nathan's day at Bawtry Hall, Doncaster on Saturday 11th October 2025 was firmly in that last category. The fact that Libby is Bawtry Hall's own beloved Wedding Coordinator and Nathan their celebrated Head Chef made this one of the most special, most personal and most joyful days I have ever been part of. When a venue's own dream team finally gets to be the ones saying I do — the love in that room is something else entirely.

Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Barratt. You absolute legends.

The Details — Elizabeth & Nathan at Bawtry Hall

The stationery flat lay told the story of a wedding planned with impeccable taste — a beautifully illustrated invitation suite featuring wildflowers and botanical details alongside the most gorgeous bespoke keepsake: a card bearing a hand-illustrated portrait of Bawtry Hall itself, framed by the words Elizabeth & Nathan, Saturday 11th October 2025, Bawtry Hall. As a venue that Libby knows better than almost anyone in the world, having it illustrated and immortalised in the stationery was the most perfect, personal touch.

A personalised wax seal, perfume, and delicate jewellery completed the detail shots — considered, warm and completely individual.

Getting Ready — A Bride Who Knows This Place

There is something uniquely moving about photographing a bride getting ready in a venue she has spent years making perfect for other people's happiest days. Libby in her stunning long-sleeved beaded lace gown, fastening jewellery, completely calm and completely radiant. Her gown was absolutely breathtaking — intricate, long-sleeved lace with the most beautiful detailing, elegant and timeless from every angle.

The arrival moment — Libby stepping out of a classic dark Land Rover, laughing, bouquet in hand, that smile that honestly could light up an entire room — is one of my favourite photographs of the entire year. Pure, uncontainable joy.

The Ceremony — Bawtry Hall at Its Most Beautiful

The ceremony room at Bawtry Hall was dressed to absolute perfection — and given that Libby knows this room better than anyone, the styling was extraordinary. Towering floral columns of lush greenery and wildflowers flanking the aisle, statement arrangements framing the ceremony space, soft chandelier light and that wonderful warmth of a room packed with people who have been waiting for this moment for a very long time.

When Nathan turned to watch Libby walk towards him — the look on his face, the absolute disbelief that this was actually happening — captured in a moment of pure, unguarded joy, both of them laughing and tearful all at once. Surrounded by colleagues, friends and family who love them both deeply, the atmosphere was electric.

The black and white image of Libby silhouetted in the grand doorway of Bawtry Hall — gown pooling around her, bouquet in hand, the formal gardens stretching behind — is simply one of those photographs that stops you in your tracks.

The Bouquet — A Work of Art

The floristry deserves its own moment entirely. That bouquet — an abundant, wildly beautiful arrangement of dahlias, sunflowers, lavender, daisies, cosmos and trailing stems in the most gorgeous palette of yellow, lilac, blush and white — was one of the most joyful and original bridal bouquets I have ever photographed. Completely personal, completely unexpected and absolutely stunning against the warm tones of Bawtry Hall's interiors.

The Reception — Warmth, Laughter & a Toastmaster in Red

The reception at Bawtry Hall was everything you would expect when the Wedding Coordinator and Head Chef are the ones celebrating — flawlessly run, beautifully styled and bursting with warmth. A toastmaster resplendent in his red coat presided over proceedings with great authority. The speeches were full of love and laughter.

The late evening portraits outside Bawtry Hall with the warm glow of the house behind them — Nathan in braces, Libby still radiant — had that easy, end-of-the-best-day-of-your-life energy that is simply impossible to manufacture.

The Finale — Fireworks by Gala Fireworks

And then. The fireworks.

Gala Fireworks delivered an absolutely show-stopping finale — brilliant white sparks exploding against the dark October sky above Bawtry Hall's grounds, illuminating the couple in the most dramatic, cinematic light as they watched from the lawn. It is the kind of ending to a wedding day that leaves every single guest breathless. As a photograph, it is extraordinary — Libby and Nathan silhouetted against the burst of light, the drama of the sky above them, the perfect full stop to a perfect day.
