Amy & Glen Wedding Day, The Manor House Hotel, Bishop Auckland
Amy & Glen | The Manor House Hotel, West Auckland
Some wedding days just have that feeling — where everything is golden, the laughter is genuine, and love is visible in every single frame. Amy and Glen's day on Saturday 6th September 2025 was exactly that kind of day.
The Morning — Getting Ready
The day started with the girls in silky sage robes, glasses of fizz in hand, giggling together on the bed. There's something so special about those quiet getting-ready moments before the day really begins — and these ones were full of warmth. Amy's makeup was applied with such care and precision, her lip liner going on in those final focused minutes before she stepped into her dress. With her veil in place and bouquet of soft white blooms in hand, she was utterly stunning.
Glen, meanwhile, was getting those finishing touches sorted — cufflinks fastened, watch clasped, tan brogues buffed to perfection. The wedding invitation flat lay told the full story: Amy Domkali and Glen Sweeney, Saturday 6th September 2025, 12:00pm, St Andrew's Church, Houghton Green, Darlington. A little blue bow tie and sunflower details adding the sweetest personal touches.
The Ceremony — St Andrew's Church, Houghton Green
The church was everything a country wedding ceremony should be, ancient stone walls, wooden pews, and that sense of timelessness that only a centuries-old building can give. Amy walked down the aisle on the arm of someone very special, and the look on Glen's face when he saw her said everything words couldn't.
The ring exchange, the vows, the moment the vicar brought them together — captured so beautifully and candidly. There was a tender moment between Amy and what appeared to be her mum, dressed in the softest lavender, that was quietly one of the most moving shots of the day.
Then out into the churchyard they spilled, confetti raining down, everyone cheering, two people absolutely beaming.
The Venue — The Manor House Hotel
What a backdrop. The Manor House is exactly as grand and characterful as its name suggests — ivy-clad stone walls, sweeping grounds, and an interior that balances rustic elegance with warmth. The reception room was dressed beautifully with tall white floral arrangements, sage green linens, and soft candlelight, courtesy of Heavenly Scent Florist.
Glen and his dad shared a quiet moment outside the grand entrance doors — a beautifully candid frame full of pride and love. And then Amy arrived, stepping out of the wedding car in a cloud of tulle and lace, bouquet in hand and the biggest smile on her face.
The Couple
These two. Honestly. The portraits are full of real, unguarded joy, Amy throwing her head back laughing against the old stone walls, Glen cupping her face in his hands, the pair of them wandering hand-in-hand through the grounds as the golden afternoon light fell all around them. There's a shot of them kissing outside the church, her veil drifting in the breeze and a cathedral of trees behind them, that is simply stunning.
And tucked into one quiet corner of the gallery, a tiny baby in the arms of a proud guest, all dressed up in a little grey suit with pink braces, staring wide-eyed at the camera. The next generation at a wedding is always a highlight.
Amy and Glen, what an absolute joy of a day. Congratulations, Mr & Mrs Sweeney. Wishing you the most incredible honeymoon, and I cannot wait to share the full gallery with you. 🥂
