Charlotte & Jordan | St John's Church & Wood House, Snods Edge
There are some days that just feel different from the moment you arrive.
Charlotte and Jordan's wedding was one of those. A service at St John's Church, followed by celebrations back at the family home of Wood House at Snods Edge — and in between, the most spectacular horse-drawn carriage arrival that had me completely lost for words for a moment. Just the two of them, kissing beside those beautiful white horses, the whole thing feeling like something out of a film.
But then, that's what this day was from start to finish.
Charlotte's gown — from Wed2B — was the epitome of understated elegance. Clean lines, a beautiful neckline, a flowing skirt that absolutely came into its own in those evening meadow portraits. Her bridesmaids in deep burgundy red made for one of the most striking wedding party shots I've taken this year, standing against that gorgeous sandstone wall with their lush wildflower bouquets from Healey Flowers.
The church ceremony had everything. The moment Jordan wiped his eyes when Charlotte appeared in the aisle behind her dad — in his kilt, I should add, which I absolutely loved — is the kind of frame that stays with you. That gorgeous apse behind them, the stained glass windows, the light. Stunning.
Back at Wood House, the reception marquee was beautifully dressed — deep red table runners, single stem roses in bud vases, hanging greenery, and the most incredible three-tier cake in burgundy and blush with those rich dark rose decorations. Clara Nicholl Catering and the team from Haventide Events clearly did a brilliant job.
And then the golden hour hit, and Charlotte and Jordan and I headed out into the meadows, and — well. The photos speak for themselves, really. Charlotte sitting in the long grass in that dress, laughing her head off. Both of them absolutely luminous in that late evening light. One of my favourite sets of portraits of the year, without a doubt.
Charlotte and Jordan — Mr and Mrs Wilkinson — congratulations. What a privilege it was to be there. 🤍
